Ipath Team News for January

IPathTeam News

January 2008

The newest addition to the IPath Team is Richie Jackson. Richie is currently filming for the new Transworld video set to release in June. If you haven’t seen the new Death video you are missing out. Ritchie out-did his last video part with unique tricks that have you rewinding for days. Constantly traveling, future plans include trips back to Australia for a few weeks and then to China. He’s not one who stays home for long periods of time.

We received a phone call from Kenny Reed not too long ago. As the conversation went on we found that he was calling from the Valley of the Crescent Moon. If you’ve ever seen the last Indiana Jones movie (Search for the Holy Grail), that’s where he was at, Jordan. He was talking of camping in the desert and finding a weird skate spot that was a 2 day camel ride? The phone then cut off...

If you’ve kept up at all with the magazines you’ve seen that Fred Gall has gone berserk! Amazing photos in everything and it’s not stopping anytime soon. Check out the Jan. 08 cover of Skateboarder Magazine along with the fourteen-page interview inside which showcases the unique spots only Fred would find. Fred recently traveled to Texas with Habitat and has plans of heading to China in February/March.

Innovation at its best! Bob Burnquist is always up to something new. The latest has him building a rail for his mega-ramp. One can only wonder what Bob is thinking… and keep in mind he is currently filming for the new Flip video.

Karl Watson and Adelmo Jr. have been traveling together filming for the Organika video. Recent destinations have been the Pacific Northwest and many cities in China. Yeah, China has it all - believe me… Adelmo is currently filming in Brasil for three weeks and Karl has been stockpiling photos/footage skating the Bay area.

Jack Sabback recently ventured the Tran Siberian Railroad starting from Russia and ending in China. A three-week journey into the middle of nowhere that will be featured in an upcoming issue of Skateboarder Magazine.

Adam Alfaro is currently traveling on a Black Label trip through Arizona and Texas (or wherever they end up???). Rhino is onboard documenting it all so it’s safe to say expect an article in Thrasher sometime in the near future.

Matt Pailes is steadily working on multiple video parts for IPath, Creation, and Satori. He is traveling in Panama for the next two weeks on a Creation/Satori tour. Music is still an important part of Matt’s life and he’s released a few new singles as well.

Matt Rodriguez is currently working with Tommy G, Ray Barbee, and Chuck Treece on the new BLK Top Project CD entitled “Lane Change”. It should be dropping in May to an eardrum near you. Matt is also working on a video promo for Frontline Skateboards scheduled to be out early this summer.

With the help of natural medicines, Nilton Neves is somehow recovering from the broken ankle he suffered at Burnside at an immensely fast pace. Nilton has taken the time off and relocated to Oceanside California and should be back on his board in a few months.

The young ones: Ben Raybourn, Aaron Homoki, and Danny DiCola will be traveling down south for the Tampa Am contest. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see all three of these guys out back shredding the bowl to escape the contest mayhem and then show up for the heats when their names are announced.
