Contest in Port Coquitlam this weekend!

If you are in the Poco area this sunday around noon, head down to the railside skate park for the "Gnar Side of the Tracks" contest starting at noon. There are prizes to be won for beginner, intermediate and advanced/sponsored catagories. So make sure you come down and check it out!

Medicine hat!

Last June you may remember a blog entry regarding a contest in Medicine hat Alberta that S&J riders, Dustin Montie and Chad Dickson drove out to with the likes of John Hanlon and Jarvis Nigelsky in the vehicle. Well there is now a highlights video up with a great photo slideshow to go along with the adventure. Thanx to the Cityofnewlights blog, we came across this one. Enjoy!

BAM SIGNING IN WHISTLER THIS SATURDAY!

If you are in the Whistler area this Saturday, than head of to the Billabong store between 2-3pm to meet your favorite jack ass star and element skateboards pro Bam Margera. He will be signing autographs in the store for the hour.

A couple weekends ago boulevard skateshop held a contest in the arena that we had sponsored with DGK, Anti-hero, and Spitfire. They have sent us over a 5 minute highlight video of the event. For all who didnt make it, looks like you definately missed out on a goodtime!

COLOR MAGAZINES SKATE AND DEPLOY

Well, the contest was a success and a tonne of fun to boot! The day started off with everyone meeting up at the vancouver skate plaza and await our bus ride to whistler. The thing about the bus ride is it was the coors light party bus that took us there and back, so needless to say everyone was crackin beer by 10am for the 2 hour trip up. Antics on the bus sure got interesting as the early morning drinking caught up quick with everyone. That sure didnt stop anyone from skating their asses off for the event though. The event was in the underground parking lot of the telus conference center. There was a quarter pipe, a bank wall, jump ramps, manny pads, ledges and even an old volvo to skate which later got rolled and destroyed with everyone jumping in to get a piece of the action. Unfortunately chad had recently rolled his ankle real bad, and Lee rolled his ankle during the practice portion of the contest, so niether of the 2 could skate the event in the end. Dustin managed to squeeze into the semi finals, but didnt make the finals in the end. But all in all the day was definately a success and a great time had by all!!

Kevin Lowry has been traveling the world over the past couple years. This kid takes every single opportunity that comes his way to go somewhere new to skate!...and yet again since hes been in Barcelona for roughly 3 months traveling around, he is still pleasing the Canadian magazines constantly. Here yet again in a Brian Caissie Barcelona article, Kevin comes through with a heft looking bank to lipslide pop out. This weekend started off nicely with the arrival of the newest transworld magazine. To no ones surprise, Chad Dickson has a very intense checkout in the back of the mag! As we all know, Chad was hit by a truck not too long ago, but that isnt stopping him, he was been healing up quite well over the past months and has been spotted rolling around on his board again! Now go to 7 11 and pick up the newest issue of this mag. In Canadian Magazine news, the newest issues of Color magazine and SBC have made it to the shelves, and there is a stack of S&J riders in between the two of them. The sun is coming out, the mags are releasing, go pick everything up, get hyped and get out skating!
