s&j: COLOR MAGAZINES SKATE AND DEPLOY

Well, the contest was a success and a tonne of fun to boot! The day started off with everyone meeting up at the vancouver skate plaza and await our bus ride to whistler. The thing about the bus ride is it was the coors light party bus that took us there and back, so needless to say everyone was crackin beer by 10am for the 2 hour trip up. Antics on the bus sure got interesting as the early morning drinking caught up quick with everyone. That sure didnt stop anyone from skating their asses off for the event though. The event was in the underground parking lot of the telus conference center. There was a quarter pipe, a bank wall, jump ramps, manny pads, ledges and even an old volvo to skate which later got rolled and destroyed with everyone jumping in to get a piece of the action. Unfortunately chad had recently rolled his ankle real bad, and Lee rolled his ankle during the practice portion of the contest, so niether of the 2 could skate the event in the end. Dustin managed to squeeze into the semi finals, but didnt make the finals in the end. But all in all the day was definately a success and a great time had by all!!
